Great article Decs, thanks for sharing this news! Super stoked to play this again!
I watched Prometheus. I am generally pretty forgiving of movies, if it’s clear what they are trying to achieve and have a decent crack at doing it. But Prometheus is complete bollocks from start (read kimi no iru machi manga online for free {all chapters}) to finish, albeit with some good performances and production design. Even as a creation myth, it’s completely implausible.
Leaving that aside, any god that demands that people kneel before it is not worthy of being called a god. Anything that can create a universe should be way beyond demanding, let alone needing, worship or devotion, especially the weirdly specific requirements that humans have settled upon.
Anything worthy of being accepted as a god should be able to communicate its existence and preferences consistently as unambiguously to something as small and homogeneous as a single species on a single world.
But it hasn’t.
That in itself is a pretty good argument against the existence of any god yet conceived by humans. Except the Flying Spaghetti Monster, whose noodly appendages only deliver their message clearly to pirates.
Holy crap! How did he do this?
One Lucky Fan Indeed!
I think this is really a exceptional Diorama that it would be a Shame if it was limited to ONE of a Kind... Thanks for the Share ;)
Please no! AVP 2010 was a huge disappointment and besides it was more like AVP 2004 than a proper Alien or Predator movie. Please let someone who would do this game series justice make the next game, Monolith perhaps?

I still stand by a full fledged AVP reboot, I absolutely hate AVP (2004) and I think Requiem did a fine job freeing the Alien and Predator series from being stuck in that iteration of AVP.
They should outright ignore all the previous AVP films with only Predator, Predator 2, Predators, Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Prometheus, and Alien Covenant kept in its canon. It should be set after Aliens, it should be loosely based on AVP 2/Primal Hunt's storyline with some updated references to the Prometheus and Covenant.
since Predator and Alien belong to other franchises it's probably too expensive with the royalties and stuff; it would have to be a blockbuster like Avengers for it to be worth it imo.
I do like all scifi stuff and actually enjoyed both AVP movies. First was my favorite, since the second one killed off the lil brother's love interest "accidently" (not even a good death!); I guess this movie (AVPR) was made in an era when useless female characters (eye candy) were starting to be phased out but not completely; tbh that's actually why I like the alien movies, the strong female roles.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!! We have jungle Predators and concrete jungle Predators. Biker Predators are a neat addition. The cloak cannot cover up that engine noise though.
so what he still has Dreadlocks. A Predalien is a xenomorph that bursted from a Yaut'ja, there for it has dreadlocks. I really don't see what some people problem's with the Predalien designs. I liked it, it even a translucent skull like the original xenomorph.
IRaptus I am unfamiliar with the books. I don't even know if The Predator is a reboot or its own thing. In any case it looks like there is plenty of fuel for the Predator franchise.
Both are insanely rich with Alien and Predator lore.
Are set in the Alien timeline....not present time. On distant planets. Not suburbia.
Have nothing to do the previous films.
WIN for all.
My choice would be Perry's trilogy for the Machiko Noguchi storyline!
Just follow the damn books FOX! Both these are excellent choices and have full trilogy's to follow. Do it!
Perry's AVP Prey/Hunters Planet/War trilogy

Tim Lebbon's AVP: Rage Wars trilogy

A game is a decent idea except that appeals to a narrow portion of the fan base and a decent game would take a while to develop.
If they make a new AVP it needs to steer way clear of AVPR.
If there was to be a AVP3, then this is how I would go about it. I would want to see the movie based in Roman times, with the basic storyline being about some sort of Roman outpost near the Isle of Skye. There would be some warring local tribes who want to take on the Romans. This would set up a situation where the Yautja take notice and want to join in for some head hunting. But it would just so happen that among the Romans are some Engineers, who are there to return to a site previously visited by Engineers who left something behind, that being some of the results from black goo technology, and also inspired the cave painting discovered by Shaw and Holloway.
Eventually a situation would come about where the Romans and warring tribes are dropping like flies and have to reach some sort of alliance in order to defeat the Yautja.
Enter the Xenomorph, brought about by the Engineers. The twist here is that the Xenomorph would appear to be on the side of the humans at first and is required to be a weapon against the Yautja.
By the end of the movie, nearly everyone is dead, either at the hands of each other, the Yautja or Xenomorph. Who ever survives is left to find a cave and make a cave painting.
The closing scene of the movie would focus to a cave painting discover by Weyland. This cave painting would chronicle in greater detail the events that happened, but be known only to Weyland. Anyone else associated with this find is killed by Weyland and/or David.
Somehow I don’t think this movie will ever be made, but it is something I would like to see.
I think Disney/Fox would be better to make a Game First and maybe introduce things like the Engineers, and Engineering/Black Goo and see how the Predator 4 Movies Genetic Upgrade Plot works out... Maybe a Game like this could be a bit complicated?
But i think its a way to Gauge the Reaction.... Or do they simply keep it to Aliens vs Predators? But then its how much Canon can this be taken as.... as the AVP Movie clearly bugged Franchise Canon, well Certainly from Alien Prospective...
I think the BIG THING... now is how well does The Predator do both Financially and Critically, if the Plot is actually decent and its executed decent.. it could leave Disney/FOX to consider a Sequel or sets of Sequels... So if the Predator 4 Movie does well, we have to ask WOULD they want to Risk Introducing the Xenomorphs back into it or a AVP Re-boot... If the Predator Franchise looks to have regained some New Footing (IF its a Success) If the Image of the Xenomorph is STAINED due to Alien Covenant... would a AVP movie then showcase the Predators as much more Superior which could in effect make the Xenomorph just Canon Fodder.
IF The Predator does not fair well... then down the line i think YES a AVP Reboot could be on the Cards... but it has to be done right and within the kind of Time-Line Plot of the AVP Games.
Isn't that what a predalien supposed to be?
Possibly, but it reminds me more of this hideous creature:

Predalien looked like a Xenomorph with dreadlocks to me.

Agree as a Stand Alone Movie AVP was not to bad.... Action Wise it was decent enough, the Plot was a bit Suspect (Ancient Aliens via Predators) and it messed a bit with Canon but as a stand alone Popcorn Flick it was good enough.
AVPR However has the Quite Cool Pred-Alien and thats about it.
AvP - The founder of Weyland Industries takes a small group to investigate an ancient temple in an inhospitable environment built by an ancient race that has visited humankind throughout history, within which a deadly alien threat awaits them.
Prometheus - er... ah, -cough-
AvPR - good things - Wolf is the toughest predator depicted yet, and the Princess Alien would have been a good idea if they had explored it in more depth. Bad things - everything else. "People are dying, we need guns", one of the worst lines every written, TBH the only one that beats it is "M-M-M-Martha" -shudder-
Xenotaris I am afraid I am quite serious and stand behind my claim that AVP is a good sci fi popcorn flick. Sure, the movie ignored time lines but delivered a great beat 'em up action film.
AVPR was great because it ended. I agree :)
Beyond that, anything else supporting AVPR sounds rather trollish since it was an utter trainwreck.
DK AVP was a decent scifi popcorn flick
Are you joking, Paul W S Anderson sucks at making movies. The first AVP contradicts a lot of things from both ALIEN and Predator. AVP is just a gloriefed beat'em up movie, there was nothing decent about that film. AVPR was great because it ended what AVP 2004 started and allowed us to have a real ALIEN movie.
Xenotaris the first AVP movie was the worse out of series.
I respectfully disagree. AVPR could be the reason why the series never continued. AVP was a decent scifi popcorn flick while AVPR seemed like a strange teen emo angst fest with a main creature and climatic battle that was too dark to see. It was almost a relief to see the characters die since they elicited no sympathy. It is possibly one of the worst sci fi movies ever made imo. I am glad you can appreciate it.
I still the think the first AVP movie was the worse out of series. Also, i don't think the yaut'ja are a strictly male species. I firmly believe they may have a stand-in-the-kitchen mentality towards their females.
I've seen it and it's terrible.
As far has copyrights go, I'm not sure if this would constitute a breech. Does anyone own the rights to biomechanical design?
If so, does the holder of Giger's estate own the rights?
The only other possible breach I can think of is the design of the ALIEN part of the title.
I find copyright laws very confusing.
@Wwarez but in the comics, it was shown that the Engineer was much stronger than the Predator, In the end, it had Ahab running for his life away from the Engineer. He only won with the help of a human. In the comics, the fight is shown to have Ahab beaten up and injured very near the start of the fight, and Ahab was an elder Predator. He was a skilled veteran, whereas this Engineer was not known to be a soldier of any kind. The Engineer in Prometheus easily killed people with the swing of his hand, whereas the predator in 'Predator' could only knock people back after punching them or throwing them. I would also suggest that the Engineers are much more intelligent and would find a way to outsmart the Predators. Although the Predators have great tech, they are never shown to have created any species and their civilization seems very primitive, so I am assuming that they are an inferior species. In Prometheus, the Engineer is shown to have easily taken bullet wounds without showing any pain or injury. From this, I would say that 1V1, An Engineer would kick a Predator's ass.

I'm really hoping that Comcast is going to buy out 20th Century out from underneath Disney.
Chris- I love AVP but AVPR was horrible. I love the idea of carrying on with that franchise. It might do well as a Netflix series? I am all for it!
Some interesting Toys...
I loved the Aliens versus Predator 2 game, i also had the SNES one and played the Arcade Games oh and the first PC AVP which i thought was not as good as its sequel.
I have other AVP games that came out on the Original Xbox, that was ok, i have the Xbox 360/PS3 game which i sadly only played once or twice as when it came out i just came to a point in my life where i had problems and never motivated myself to playing games or other stuff much since 2010. I have many games and movies since then that still remain in their Shrink Wrapped Packaging.
But i certainly do see a Future for the AVP series as far as Games and i think Disney would do well to License a AVP Game that incorporates the Alien Prequels.. A very well made AVP game with Engineers etc, if done right could make a good return and allow Disney to Gauge if making a Re-boot AVP Franchise would be a good idea.
AVP movie came out in 2004. Yes development started in 1994 but the 1994 version of the movie was going to be faithful to the comics as in an adaptation of Aliens versus Predator Prey; then it was forgotten about before development restarted back up around the early 2000's and the story was changed from a space/alien planet setting to a present day earth one.
could be interesting, have to wait and see
Oh dear lol
Mind you i will have to see it just for fun.... see how bad it really can be ;)
2 bad that it is not Alien Dominant!
