Will the new AvP movie be a sequel or reboot?
While films like The Predator (2018) continued to make reference to Alien vs. Predator and the established canonical timeline, it's unlikely the new Alien vs. Predator film will continue on or reference the events in the previous two films.
Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth TV series also essentially ret-cons the AvP timeline by having its new, official timeline marking the first time an Alien Xenomorph makes its way to Earth - that series takes place in the year 2120, whereas Alien vs. Predator took place in 2004.
It's safe to say Disney and their acquisition of 20th Century Fox - now 20th Century Studios, marks a fresh start and rebranding of established timelines and lore for both Alien and Predator. That being said, we are almost certain the next AvP movie is going to be a reboot of the franchise.
