I think they should do another film in the series and set it in the future. Not a reboot but keep the references to the first movies minimal.

Oddly I enjoy AVP a lot more after ARP:R lol. Its entertaining, despite some questionable casting and cheesy lines.
AVP:R I don't think Ive been able to sit through the whole film since the first watch at the cinema. It is just frustrating and difficult to watch for a lot of reason. Agreed Cuponator on the whole badboy teenage love angle, the best part of that film was when that chick got nailed by Wolf's Shuriken. Totally unlikeable characters
I like AVP! I'll always wish that they were different, but I enjoy the two. Requiem is GARBAGE. That movie is just unforgiveable. Predator. Alien. In a smalll Colorado town. THE LIGHTING (Covenant had some questionably dark moments though lol). A plot about a nerdy teenager trying to win the girl. Come, man. Although every once in a blue moon, I pop in Requiem. I can't deny the Pred-Alien design or some of the action scenes for sure
requiem was just aweful n made no sense at all. one minute the mother ship is passing our moon n is far away from earth, the next its launching a pod down the earth????? the idea of avp is great imo. it just wasn't done well. it cant be set on earth. it has to be out there somewhere. they would do well to consult the dark horse writers for ideas if they wish to do another
I like AVP. Get some popcorn and enjoy. Requiem is one of the worst movies ever made though.

@ Xenotaris, A team employed by Mr. Weyland investigate an ancient construct within which xenomorph based bioweaponry is unleashed. SOunds like Alien, AvP, Prometheus, and to some extent Covenant. Bad mouth Anderson all you want, but Ridley basically remade AvP and called Prometheus.

I believe the first AVP was based on the last couple levels of the first and third Tomb Raider games. Paul W S Anderson has a knack for ripping stuff from video games.

@ValentineWong - The engineers had control of earth during that time so yeah SHITFEST AVP is non-canon and Alien Covenant shove the damn nail into AVP's heart rending it non-canon as well so fuck AVP!

Throughout the origins of BOTH franchise's, by story-line, mythology, et al., both species have been linked. The linkages can even be seen in most of all of the movies since the first Predator.
ALL AvP movies were poorly done, and in the wrong time line.
Prometheus adds ANOTHER variable to the entire universe.
Returning to each franchise being separate us smart at this time because the AvP's were BAD and Prometheus "muddied the waters."
Whether it is a complete re-boot, or just ignoring the bad, is irrevelant. Another AvP WILL happen for a miriade of reasons. All we can do is "HOPE" they get it right this time.
And before anyone says A's and P's don't belong together...take some time and research, if not actually read EVERYTHING ever written. Each race has it's own pro's/con's. Humans are phisacally mire weak than either. The A's abd P's are ALMOST equal in yheir own rights. The ONLY reason that humans can hold theur own against either us because humabs either won't, or don't know to, quit and lay down and die.
In this book/comic/movie series humans are like reality's U.S.M.C.: no retreat, no surrender, never back down, never give up...but sometimes uou have to back up to regroup.
If the AvP movies were done properly, and the installment of Prometheus was clearly outlined before release, then 95% of this whole debate wouldn't even be here

Indeed i think a Reboot is needed and one that is set in the time line of Post Aliens in 2179, it could work if done right but i cant see this happening.
I think the cross-over will now be confined to Comics, and Books and Video Games and that Predator Franchise and Alien one will be kept as Two separate ones as far as Movies.
But if FOX feel it could make money then in what 20 years time who knows..
I would LOVE a sequel or a reboot. I love the first AVP movie. I have seen it at least a hundred times. I love it because I have a crush on Scar (one of the Yautja's/predators). So honestly, I would love to see a new one. BUT, I have a demand.... They must include Ian Whyte!!! (Ian Whyte plays as all of the predators we see in Alien vs Predator AND Alien vs Predator Requiem. If he is in it, you should know that I will be the first one to get tickets to the movie.
Might wanna just try player matches, Sure you won't unlock the skins, but that game had pretty bad ranked matchmaking and was really hard to find any matches. And the only modes that give decent xp are species and team deathmatch, but since Preds are so broken species is just asking to get smashed by them, and team deathmatches usually end up just being pred teams.
Player matches you can set up the gametype, the map, the amount of people, Just a much better way to play, unfortunately you don't get xp for it, but that only unlocks skins anyway and it takes quite a while to get to the good ones.
Also Pokemon Go sucks

Oh god the first AVP was terrible! It butchered so much of Alien and Predator lore and designs, it made me want to puke out my rectum.
Okay as for an idea for an AVP movie, REBOOT it! Have no connection with the previous AVP movies.
I love the first AVP movie, but when I originally heard one was being made, I was hoping for a big-screen version of the original Dark Horse comic book. Something akin to that, a stand-alone story with an outer space cowboy western flavor, would make a good addition to the series, IMO.
NO REBOOTS! Just do another film...
