First Look at Alien Gameplay from Mortal Kombat X!

To be released within the first quarter of 2016 for the Xbox One and PS4, the second Kombat Pack for Mortal Kombat X, the 10th instalment in the long running fighting game franchise, will add five characters to the games roster and three new skin packs.

The first Kombat Pack, originally released in 2015 included four new characters, bringing the games roster of 22 Kharacters up to 26. These new characters included Tremor (a ninja that uses earthquake attacks) and Tanya (an Edenian female with ties to Rain), as well as horror legend Jason Vorhees from the Friday the 13th movies and sci fi legend the "Predator".

The new Kombat Pack adds five (though one could argue seven) more Kharacters, bringing the games roster up to an impressive 31 (or 33). The first of these characters, Goro was previously available as a pre-order download, with two of the other Kombatants being new character Bo' Rai Cho and horror legend Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. The fourth (fifth, and possibly sixth) new kharacter is Tri-Borg, a robotic ninja character that merges together the abilities of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 characters Cyrax, Sektor and Cyber-Smoke, though it is unclear as to whether the player has to choose one of the personalities/abilties per match or if they can seamlessly shift between the three characters abilities midfight.

The final addition to the second Kombat Pack is the Xenomorph, here known simply as "Alien". The legendary sci fi horror creature has been born from a Tarkatan (Baraka's race) and has inherited its hosts ability to produce sharp blades from its forearms. As with the other characters the addition of the skin packs allows the creature to be represented in various guises, as seen in the above gameplay trailer.

Alien vs. Predator 3 – What We Know So Far

Officially, Alien vs. Predator 3 remains in concept phase for the time being. A reboot of the iconic crossover has been discussed on numerous occasions, with chatter picking up heavily from 20th Century Studios back in the Fall of 2024 after the successful release of Fede Alvarez's Alien: Romulus. The blending of Alien and Predator cinematic universes was further solidified in 2025 with Dan Trachtenberg's Predator: Badlands. The two movie monsters continue to coexist in the same timeline, but their conflict has not yet been realized since 2007. A reboot of Alien vs. Predator would likely ret-con the existing 2 entries and establish a completely new AvP timeline.
