During this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Creative Lead for Alien Isolation, Al Hope discussed a number of ways the team at Creative Assembly went about creating such an iconic and fear-inducing atmosphere for Alien: Isolation. During the conference, Al shows off some footage from when the game was in its various prototype phases - showing footage of a third-person view and explaining why they chose to stick with the first-person perspective for the game's final release as well as a number of other factors and learning experiences the developers experienced throughout production.
For the pitch DEMO, Creative Assembly used an Alien: Resurrection modeled Xenomorph
"When we set out to make Alien: Isolation our goal was to make the Alien game we had always wanted to play. A game that took the player back to Ridley Scott’s original haunted house in space. A game where just one Alien could be terrifying and provide a meaningful encounter to an underpowered and underprepared player."
