Absolutely Big Dave. 

One of the things I did notice, is that the "Pilot Room" in the game feels more massive than it actually did in the movie. The Egg silos felt more compressed, however the tunnels were just as massive as in the movie. 

The look and feel of the place was pretty much spot on when compared to the original Alien movie.

Anyway I find your theory of Weyland's uploading to David to be very possible, if not probable! Weyland's strange speech on 'souls' seem to hint at such. And if he was truly a billionaire genius, wouldn't an uploading to David's head be sensible?

But yes the game did raise the fact that, the Human Eisenberg was badly wounded and so had his consciousness and memories uploaded to a Synthetic Version with the help of his Father.

This was one of the Plot points, i thought Prometheus could follow before the movie was released... that Weyland would upload himself to David?

Who knows they could pull a similar stunt for Alien Covenant where Davids doppelganger is maybe a Synthetic Construct who has Weylands Soul so to speak.

Things also like the Beacon.... why would you need to travel up those tiny corridors to the Beacon?  Would the Space Jockey not been able to activate it from the Pilot Room and then how does the Jockey even get to the where the Beacon is in Alien Isolation

so the way they portrayed the schematic of the interior layout was maybe not as well done as if we ever did have a full exploration of the ship in Alien

But i still feel the look of the Architecture of the Ship in that game matches Alien more closely than say the Juggernaught did in Prometheus etc. As far as construction materials

Yeah i think SM may mean as far as the Technical Design such as interior map of the ship compared to what really would fit inside.... then again the Egg Chamber was always also a inconsistancy

What i meant was that the interior and look in Isolation was more closer to Alien as far  as the Organic Bio-Mechnoid look..... the previous games include Marines games the ship looked more Mechanical than Organic

Because the entire derelict was brought to the screen with amazing detail in that game. (Like everything else by the way)

Bizarrely that was the least accurate part of that game.

Very cool. I loved this under rated game too. The reveal of the Derelict and the scene where #8 mutates into a Queen were impressive too. I'm surprised that there was not more discussion about it.

As far as the Game not quite looking as Organic as the Derelict i think we cant use this to establish anything, i think that Alien Isolation Derelict Mission is a better representation

On a side note, look at the architecture. Much different from the original ALIEN chamber. More evidence for the 'Space Jockeys are not engineers' argument?

Preferably they never make this again, but if they would decide to do another it should definitely be a reboot. The first was ok, the second was terrible, but both made the mistake of setting this on modern day earth. The alien is tied up so much to the future world that Ridley Scott and James Cameron created that it feels out of place outside of that. The predator is cool on its own, you can put it anywhere. So it is beyond me why they chose the setting that they did. I enjoyed the original comic, and the second Aliens vs Predator game had a great story too, so it can work. Just give it an Aliens vibe, put in marines and it could work.

I really love the Colonial Marine campaign of Aliens vs Predator 2. It just has everything: humor, twists, story, tragedy, and space jockeys!

X-Men First Class and the new Planet of the Apes flicks were decent enough, even if they were pseudo-reboot/ prequels. Batman Begins was good.  On the other hand I never saw the new Fantastic Four, but from all reports it's poor performance was deserved.

I just don't like re-boots. It's that simple.

Some people don't like vegetables because it leaves a bad taste in their mouth.

Some people don't like Beiber, Britney or Beyoncé.

Some people don't like football, baseball or basketball.

If you like re-boots, good for you.

If the film is ultimately entertaining, it doesn't matter if it's a sequel, reboot or anything else.

What's wrong with rebooting a franchise that has promise because something went wrong? We wouldn't have the Nolan Batman films if they just gave up after Batman and Robin. I Think rebooting something is fine if either a: enough time has passed and you can tell your own story in an interesting way that might have conflicted with other movies, or b: the first attempt was horrible.

Yep. Expectation is a bitch. It doesn't matter how good a filmmaker you are, the sequel will very rarely stand upto the original, mainly due to expectation.

And re-boots, no matter if the original is bad or not, just don't even attempt it!

And Ridley went along with it. It's naïve to simply blame Fox, when Riddles has enough clout to say exactly what he wants and get it.

As for franchise sequels - why wouldn't you? Every sequel cashes in on what came before, because you don't need to find an audience.

I think companies are running out of ideas...

And will cash in on the easy options...

I dont think we have seen our Last Terminator movie, look at Transformers i expect another 1-2 more of these after The Last Knight.

After the Justice League i expect a Batman Re-boot Trilogy etc.

I think Movie Companies will continue this way and thus see few more Jurassic Park Movies, what about Ghost Busters 3?  will we see a Ghost Busters 4 i think so and if this one is a bigger hit then maybe we would see a 5?

I dont think any Franchise that has comprised of more than 2 movies is safe..... Back to the Future 4-6 i think would definitely happen down the line.

These can work if they are thought out and given good budget and time and cast.... but when they are not then we get the Disappointments that AVP and AVPR were.

We have to remember Ridleys Dream was a more Alieny Alien Prequel.. and double the budget he had to play with. But Fox changed that.

Just that Prometheus was a movie that disappointed and polarized some fans.

I think Prometheus and AVP in a similar way did not show what Fans had expected...  I think the Ancient Alien links in both are one thing that did cause a concern in some fans eyes.

But AVPR was a major let down, their was a chance to expand and improve on AVP but it was wasted.

I think Prometheus Critics, where fans who never knew the Alien connections and so a ambiguous movie that it was, would have been confusing....  Alien Franchise Fans would have made connections but then there was some Alien Fans who demanded more and then not seeing things like Xenos and Eggs, and Derelict had disappointed them.

But my other point being that % wise the movies all made a decent Profit and Turn Over and this is why AVPR was made... but not much thought or effort went into it.

It would be the same Horror if a Prometheus Sequel was made to fit into Alien Connection more, but then given a not well known Director, a Small Budget similar to AVPR and poor cast.... can you imagine the result.

Hopefully Fox are taking Alien Franchise and Predator serious now, and after the disappointment with AVP movies i am not sure they would pursue another soon.

But they sure as Hell will in future as a way of Making Money if they can double their return or more they would keep making them.

Which is a concern i have for the Alien Prequels and Aliens Sequels as simply cashing in on the COW.

Like Disney will do with Star Wars... yep... EP10-12 about 4-6 Spin Offs and 1-2 Ewok Movies over the next 15 years you go and see.

and so if they make Alien Prequel 1-3 they become more Fan Service, and a Alien 5 and 6, then a Prometheus Follow on that explores Events of the Engineers not related to the Xeno or Mankind.

If all these do well, and Predator 4, then a 5 then its only a matter of time for Aliens vs Predators vs Engineers lol

Prometheus had much fewer critics than either AvP.  Or Alien3.  Or Resurrection.

Not really sure what was going on with that... at first they confirmed she would play a minor role, then we had the Synopsis that did not include her.... then it was confirmed she would not  be joining up with the cast to shoot in Australia...

I dont think Ridley 100% confirmed she is not in it?

In a interview she was very coy and had a look on her face when asked about Alien Covenant that led me to think that Shaw played a role at least or something special in store... even if that meant Rappace would not return.

Now she is joining for shooting but again, the News is Ambiguous as does "weeks" mean as in a number of Weeks.. or a Weeks worth?

She was to feature prior to the John Logan Re-Write and as with any movie, changes can be made and added as they go along.

The Prometheus Shaw vs Engineer Re-Shoot, and the Hanger Scene we got were not the Final Draft or Shooting draft but added latter.  When they was actually shooting.

As SM pointed out they would have seen the % turnover as a Profit and while Prometheus had its critics it too made a good return and so a Sequel got the go ahead.

Agreed, the movies should have been given more of a budget and better director and draft and BOTTOM LINE... based on the AVP Games Timeline... i.e post 2179

But will they make another?  I think so for sure.. when.. who knows.. in 20 years? we cant be sure as far as sooner i think it depend on the reception of Alien Covenant and Alien 5 and the New Predator Movies.

Lex got less blood on her (thanks to the Alien head shield) and it was diluted by the snow when the Queen smacked her. She got her jacket off in around the same time Hicks (who copped more blood at very close range) got his armour off.

Did the job though. A threat had to be removed (or at least vengeance had to be taken) and the embryo was preserved. If we want to be picky, Scar's burster should've been born before they escaped the Temple, based on gestation times in that film.

Despite Bouvetoya being a pretty good location due to its isolation, everything mentioned about Antarctica is bogus. Bouvet is closer to Africa than Antarctica.

I've only read the ALIEN comics so.... I wouldn't know the storyline behind the AVP comics

I'm looking forward to the new Predator film in development by Shane Black. But as far as Aliens and Predators sharing the screen, I think Hollywood is probably incapable of doing it well.

CGI movies or some other animated versions could probably be cool, though, if there's a market for that. I'm not familiar with the comics, though.

@Necro, I think studios are realizing that audiences are more intelligent and aware now than they were 10+ years ago. With the advent of social media, movie plots and impressions are discussed at length, they can't "pull a fast one" on us and secure ticket sales by playing into marquee value. The Predator and Alien: Covenant are being treated with great respect and consideration. Imagine a crossing over treated with the same consideration!

@Xenotaris, yeah they would need to adhere to the source material more than they did the first time around. That's why I voted for a full reboot, ret-con the two that exist as bad dream, pull an "Alien 5" on them haha.

Like S.M said, both AvP's did make Fox a decent return at the box office, despite its critical backlash. Imagine an AvP done o the size and scale of Alien: Covenant or The Predator...

We can't rule out that a new AvP won't be discussed down the road behind closed doors. The game and comic fan inside me wishes we'd see a proper film adaptation, but Fox would need to work very hard to convince me (and all of you) that a new AvP would be worth my money. We can only hope!

Hopefully they would base the reboot more off the games storyline (ie Aliens vs Predator 2 & its expansion Primal Hunt)

I am all for a reboot or a sequel. I don't care. 

I love all 3 predator films. I love Aliens 1,2,3, AvP and Prometheus 

AvP:R and Alien 4 are okay. I don't hate them. I always consider myself and easy going fan when it comes to quality or sequels. 

I'll never hate more of a movie I love.

Eg. I love all 7 Star Wars movies. And the shows. I love the prequels, yes. I love all 4 JP films. I love all 5 Terminators. I'll always love movie if it uses things from a franchise that I love, unless it is drastically changed.

I can't see myself enjoying an Independence Day sequel, as I'm am not a fan of the original, but don't hate it either. The sequel would have to be really good. But if it's a predator film. Cast I don't know, some mix of CGI and props, good score and some mythology to explore, I'm all down for it.

The only franchise I could ever be seriously pissed off with is if they ruined either Star Wars or JP. Predator, Alien, Jaws, etc. I can forgive.

That's my in put.

I'd expect the survivor of a film to end up in the next one if that story is being continued.
